Akamai Chronicles: A New Flame

Tahu grunted as he blocked a blow from a swinging blade of fire. Sparks from the two swords glittered in the daylight, attracting many matoran villagers near and far to watch.

"You're getting sloppy Young Flame." The warrior scoffed, swinging his blade at him with ease.

"I'm only sloppy because you bore me old man!" Tahu snarled at him

The warrior leaped into the air and slashed at him in mid air. Tahu nearly taking a blow, he rolls to the right across the now green, grassy fields of the once barren desert that was Bara Magna.  He paused to catch his breath.

"Maybe the Great Beings were wrong to have used my dashing good looks on a welp such as yourself." He grinned in amusement at the look on Tahu's face now twisting in anguish.

"I didn't choose to look like a fool!" He shot back.

The two fighters charged at each other, the wind howls in the power emitting from them. The swords struck, sending more sparks into the air. Tired, the warrior stabbed his sword into the ground to catch his breath.

"Even with Teridax gone, you still have some learning to do." He panted

"I don't need your pity..." Tahu frowned

The warrior sighed and shook his head. "Let us rest. We shall continue this discussion some other time." He muttered.

"What? Why?! It was starting to get exciting..." Tahu stared at him in disappointment; his frown extending so low it looked as if his mouth would hit the floor if he wanted it to.

"Don't you have a wife to look after?"  The warrior asked, trying to change the subject in hopes Tahu would give up.

"Yes, but she can wait once I make the legendary Ackar meet his maker!" he broadened his chest with a look of determination, resting his new sword on his shoulder.

"Your wife... what was her name again?" Ackar grinned

Tahu raised his brow in suspicion. "Gali. What of her?" he asked, already the having the feeling to strike him down upon him saying any wrong answer.

"She is over there watching you. From the looks of things, she seems rather happy."

   He set down his sword. "This better not be one of your dirty tricks..." he hissed, turning towards said direction in which Ackar was looking. There she was, clad in her ocean blue armour, and a sky blue cloth draped snugly around her waist and thigh. Tahu stood there awestruck and dumbfounded like as if he were a matoran gazing at a sunset glistening along the oceans of Ga-Koro for the first time in his life. Her Kakau had changed to a more sleeker, improved form of her old mask.  Her golden yellow eyes hypnotize Tahu in a way where he can't look away from them, frozen in place. Ackar smiled and snickered in amusement at Tahu's current reaction. He sighed, "She is beautiful I'll give you that."

   Ever since the death of Teridax, the Toa and Matoran had joined forces with the Glatorian and Agori and rebuilt their old villages. The Nuva were immortalized as legends along with the newly assembled Glatorian team lead by Ackar. Since then Tahu became the Guardian of the Fire tribe. Gali became the Water Goddess of the Water tribe. Lewa was entitled the Spirit of Air for the Jungle Tribe. Kopaka became Guardian of the Ice tribe. Onua formed together the last remaining members of the Iron tribe and the Onu-Matoran into the newly formed Earth tribe while Pohatu had changed the Rock tribe that was once the Skrall to the Stone tribe, where the skrall were forced into accepting the new alliance with the matoran and soon became peaceful towards the other Agori and Matoran tribes. Through a twist of fate the Sand tribe that was once the Vorox had reverted back to their original status, and became a village of Glatorian and Agori once more.  

   The Stone and Sand Tribes soon joined together as one, with the Po-Matoran, sand Agori, and rock agori. Both Pohatu and Onua were viewed as role-models of true teamwork, as they lead both tribes together (though they still kept a friendly rivalry on the kohlii fields). Tahu married Gali after confessing to her his true feelings towards his frustration and anger during their previous adventures.  The bickering between the two had toned down since then, now looking after their villages.

   Tahu shook off her gaze and ran to her. He stops within seconds upon reaching her. His eyes became fixated on the excited and happy expression on Gali's face.

"Hey, what are you doing out here? Me and Ackar here are-"

"Tahu." She cut him off

"Uh... yes?" He raised his brow

"There is something I want to tell you. I've been keeping it from you for the past few months that had gone by." Her smile began to shrink and her mask turned bright pink.

Puzzled by her awkward behaviour he grabbed her arms and pulled her close.

"What is it?"

Gali looked away, "Haven't you noticed anything about me that has... changed?"

   He looked at her, inspected her head, her form, her body. He saw nothing. What is she talking about? Was it her beautiful appearance or look in her eyes? He stared down at her body again, he noticed that her belly had gotten a little bigger. Had she started gaining weight? No, he never saw her eating much lately. Was it her armour? No. What was it? "I don't know, could you give me a hint?"

  Gali started to frown, a little disappointed in Tahu's reply on something she thought was so obvious that even Pohatu could have figured out quicker. She leaned forward to his ear.  "Tahu..." she whispered into his ear, his body shuddered from feeling her cold breath on his neck and shoulder. "Yes?" He replied staring at her from the corner of his eyes, he felt like he was going to faint after the next few words that she joyfully whispered...


"You're going to be a father".
